Back then, for me, it was- it was singers with a band behind them, like Rod Stewart or Ray Charles.

Aretha is my- is my biggest musical influence, but I would listen to Diana Washington, Ray Charles, a lot of that old Black R&B soul thing, that was really what struck me.

They had like this second floor with a balcony with a- with a... a planter box around the inside of the- of the- of the balcony thing above the dance floor.

And I would jump up there and I would grab the planter box and I would walk my way around on my hands, all the way around, just putting on a show.

You know, you didn't have any lights or staging or production, so you just had to- you had to win the people over, you did whatever you could, and I did stuff like that.

I'm kinda still climbing stuff now.

I'm Phil Carson and I have the pleasure and privilege to manage Foreigner.

40 years ago, I was running Atlantic Records in London, and we had a great time there.

We had Led Zeppelin, we had Cream, we had Yes, we had ACDC.

And around that time, one of the guys in New York, the president of the company, had the vision to sign a band that consisted of three English guys and three Americans and they changed everything.

Foreigner Four spent more weeks at number one than any record in the history of Atlantic Records.

For a classic band to reunite these various forces is not only unheard of, but to have it come across so sincerely, and with a lot of love for Mick Jones' vision and for the band and what it's always been and it's legacy.

RICK: I've known Mick since the '60s and I've- I've just always thought he was amazing.

He's a great, great character and a great musician, great writer, love being with him.

LOU: We've had our ups and downs, and in spite of that, I like him a lot, he's a- he's a great friend, love him, and it is always great to work with him.

Always great to work with him.

DENNIS: Mick's guitar playing is the same today as it was back then.

He hasn't improved that much.

(men laughing) MICK: You look across stage and you see a sight that you haven't seen for, you know, 12 years, maybe, 13 years.

It's cool with it, you know, everybody's really locked in and we're playing tight, and there's life in the old girl yet.

We went over to his apartment and sat down and started playing around with some song ideas, and this is the song that was written.
